Periodic Inspection, Testing Analysis & Contracting | KYF Test
KYF Test provides periodic inspection of pressure vessels, lifting machines, installations and machinery, transformer test-analysis and electrical-mechanical contracting services.
KYF Test keeps your work equipment and installations compliant, traceable and safely operating on three axes: periodic inspection services, tests and analyses and contracting and project services. From pressure vessels to lifting machines, electrical installations to storage racks, transformer oil analyses to medium voltage cells — we work with an accredited examination mindset, calibrated measurement gear and signed-report discipline. Below you will find what each service covers, the legal intervals and how the process runs, step by step.
Why Is Periodic Inspection a Legal Requirement?
Law No. 6331 on Occupational Health and Safety obliges employers to have work equipment periodically inspected, maintained, measured and tested — and to document the results. Scope, method and intervals are set by the Regulation on Occupational Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment and the relevant TS EN standards. Unless legislation or the standard states otherwise, the interval cannot exceed one year; on pressure vessels the proof test runs at 1,5 times the operating pressure. Running unchecked equipment is more than an administrative fine — in an accident it is the document that hardens the employer's legal liability.
SGK statistics show a major share of workplace accidents originates from equipment failure and missed maintenance. Periodic inspection is the planned engineering system that catches invisible fatigue, corrosion, insulation degradation and safety-device faults before the accident happens.
What Is a Type-A Inspection Body?
Inspection bodies are classified Type A, B or C under TS EN ISO/IEC 17020. Type-A bodies are fully independent third parties — free of design, production, supply and user sides. That independence is the foundation of the reports' legal and technical validity. KYF Test reports are accepted as official evidence in Ministry of Labour workplace audits, SGK accident investigations, court proceedings, insurance expertise and ISO 45001 management-system audits.
The Service Triangle: Inspection, Analysis, Contracting
1. Periodic Inspection Services
The full tree sits under Our Services, split into three families. On the inspection side the leading groups are:
- Pressure vessels: steam and hot-oil boilers, heating boilers, autoclaves, air receivers, expansion tanks-hydrophores, boilers and cooking kettles — internal-external examination, safety-gear trials and 1,5 times pressure proof.
- Lifting and handling machines: overhead and gantry cranes, chain hoists, forklifts, reach trucks, pallet trucks, stackers, manlifts, goods lifts, conveyors, ramps, slings and magnetic lifters — rope-hook-brake measurement and load trials.
- Installation inspections: portable extinguishers, fire detection-alarm, ventilation, earthing, residual current devices, lightning protection, cathodic protection, batteries, transformers and thermal camera scanning.
- Machines and tools and industrial door-rack systems: TS EN ISO 12100/60204-1 safety rules, light-curtain and emergency-stop function trials, plus TS EN 15635 damage-classified rack audits.
- Work machinery: dozers, loaders, backhoe loaders, excavators, tipper trucks, graders, scrapers, rollers, asphalt pavers and concrete pumps — TS EN 474 series with ROPS-FOPS, brake and visibility focus.
2. Tests and Analyses
The tests and analyses family makes the equipment's inner state visible: on transformers and transformer breakers — insulation oil dielectric strength, dissolved gas analysis (DGA), moisture, acidity and density; Buchholz relay, thermometer, contact resistance, torque-tightness and cell insulation tests; LVD-scope insulation, high-voltage, leakage and earth-continuity measurements; and rack static calculation analysis. These readings are not one-off snapshots but a trend file that grows year by year: the fault becomes visible in the data before it crosses the threshold.
3. Contracting and Project Services
New plants, renovation and energy infrastructure works gather under contracting and project: high current systems (panels, busbar, cabling, lighting, UPS, generator, earthing), low current infrastructure (data, cameras, fire detection, voice, telephone, satellite-TV), medium voltage facilities (cells, cable-termination, test-commissioning, project-acceptance approval), mechanical installations (HVAC, fire extinguishing, plumbing, steam-hot oil, compressed air, process) and camera systems. Contracting joins calculation, installation and verification under single responsibility; the handover file becomes the reference baseline of the periodic inspection regime.
Inspection Frequency by Equipment Type
| Equipment / Installation | Interval | Legal / Standard Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure vessels and boilers | Yearly (proof at 1,5x working pressure) | Work Equipment Regulation, Boiler Code |
| Lifting machines, forklifts, cranes | Yearly | Work Equipment Regulation Annex III, TS EN 13001 |
| Slings and lifting accessories | Yearly + user pre-use check | TS EN 1492/13414 |
| Electrical installation, earthing, RCD | Yearly (earthing max 1-2 years) | Internal Electrical & Earthing Regulations |
| Fire extinguishing and detection systems | Yearly (+ monthly visual) | Fire Buildings Regulation, TS EN 54/12845 |
| Storage racks | Yearly expert audit + monthly visual | TS EN 15635 / 15512 |
| Industrial doors | Yearly | TS EN 13241 / 12453 |
| Machines and tools | Yearly | Machinery Safety Directive, TS EN ISO 12100 |
| Work machinery | Yearly | Work Equipment Regulation, TS EN 474 |
| Transformer oil / DGA | Yearly (extra after events) | TS EN 60076, IEC 60599/60422 |
This is the ceiling; where the standard or the manufacturer gives a shorter period, the narrowest one prevails. Above-critical use (heavy industry, dusty-humid-coastal sites) tightens intervals on a risk basis.
Why the Report Is a Critical Document
A periodic inspection report is the official engineering document proving the equipment is fit for safe use — carrying measurement values, limit comparison, finding level and removal suggestion together. Its main fields of use:
- Ministry of Labour (ÇSGB) workplace audits and SGK accident investigations
- Legal evidence in courts; insurance policies and expertise processes
- ISO 45001 / ISO 9001 management-system audits
- Investment, relocation and handover technical files
Per the regulation, reports must be retained through the equipment's service life and for at least 5 years after decommissioning. Every report is the comparison baseline of the next control: the operator that reads trends manages faults with a maintenance plan instead of buying them.
Advantages of Working with KYF Test
- One roof, three competencies: the same engineering ecosystem in inspection, analysis and contracting — boundary errors close before they surface.
- Independence and legal validity: reports are prepared signed, measured and limit-referenced per TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 understanding and Turkish legislation.

Frequently Asked Questions on Periodic Inspection and OHS Services
Periodic inspection is the examination of your work equipment and installations (cranes, forklifts, boilers, pressure vessels, electrical installations, fire systems, racks, machinery) at defined intervals by competent engineers, through measurement, examination and proof tests, followed by a report. Under Law No. 6331 on Occupational Health and Safety and the Work Equipment Regulation — yes, having the periodic inspections of site equipment done and documented is a legal obligation. Missing inspections produce administrative fines and, in an accident, stand out as the most critical missing document hardening the employer\s liability.
Legislation and the relevant standard set the interval: unless they state otherwise, the gap cannot exceed one year. Some equipment carries narrower terms — on pressure vessels the proof runs at 1,5 times operating pressure, and the Boiler Code stages internal examination yearly and hydrostatic test five-yearly; for racks TS EN 15635 asks a yearly expert audit besides monthly user observation. Where the manufacturer manual gives a shorter period, the narrowest prevails. On heavy industry, dusty-humid-coastal sites, intervals are tightened on a risk basis.
We serve on three axes. Periodic inspection: pressure vessels, lifting-handling machines, installations, machines and tools, door-rack systems and work machinery. Tests and analyses: transformer oil-DGA, electrical tests, LVD and rack static analysis. Contracting and projects: high-low current, medium voltage, mechanical installation and camera systems. Every detail is in the our services tree.
Reports are signed by competent examination engineers from the mechanical or electrical discipline per equipment, and jointly carry measurement value, limit comparison, finding level and removal suggestion. Prepared as an independent third party in the TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 understanding, they are accepted as official evidence in Ministry of Labour workplace audits, SGK accident investigations, court proceedings, insurance expertise and ISO 45001 system audits. Per the regulation, reports must be retained through the equipment service life and at least 5 years after decommissioning; every report is the comparison baseline of the next control.
Every finding is reported with its level: minor defects get a timed correction plan; on faults directly threatening life (a brake that will not hold, a dead safety valve, a bypassed light curtain, a rope beyond discard limit) the equipment is warned in writing for out-of-service treatment and tagged. After repair-replacement the verification control repeats, and safe return depends on engineer approval. The goal is not penalty but closing the fault before the accident: findings enter next year\s maintenance plan and your risk assessment as input.
Periodic inspection proves conformity with a document; tests and analyses make the equipment\s inner state visible. On transformers and breakers we run insulation oil dielectric strength, dissolved gas analysis (DGA), moisture-acidity interpretation; Buchholz relay, thermometer, contact resistance, torque tightness and cell insulation tests. Read as a time series, these measurements detect partial discharge, overheating and arcing before the threshold is crossed — so the maintenance-replacement decision is made planned, not after a production stop.
Reach us via the contact page with your equipment inventory and last inspection dates; survey-suggestion and appointment planning are set together. On the agreed date our engineer teams attend the site, run measurements and proofs with calibrated gear, compare results with limits and deliver the official report promptly. We serve industrial plants, construction sites, logistics warehouses, hotels, hospitals and production lines across Türkiye. To avoid missing renewal windows we build a yearly control calendar on your inventory and coordinate contracting and periodic inspection services from one hand.
