A generator system is the backup power, an engine-alternator combination meeting the plant's demand during grid failure or peak load. Installation is not placing a machine but designing fuel, exhaust, cooling, sound insulation, transfer panel (ATS), battery-charging, earthing and emission infrastructure together. Our contracting covers integrated engineering from correct power sizing to placement, mounting, commissioning, performance test and a periodic inspection plan.
Design Inputs
- Power selection: Standby and continuous kVA-kW calculations, motor starting currents (star-delta, drives), harmonic (non-linear) tolerance and parallel requirement. Prime/Standby/Continuous rating is clarified by manufacturer data.
- Placement-infrastructure: Stack-exhaust line and insulation, fuel tank and spill tray (fire regulation), intake-exhaust fan and cooling, vibration pads and acoustic enclosure; fuelling and fire safety distances.
- Transfer: Automatic transfer panel selectivity, synchronisation (parallel-grid) setup, coordination with distribution, critical load staging, continuity chain with UPS.
- Electrical-safety: Earthing (frame and neutral), RCD protection, insulation and continuity, start battery bank and charger (under control scope).
Installation and Commissioning
A dead-work (OSAS) and safety plan apply at the start; lifting handling (crane) is ensured. During mounting, exhaust-heat support, fuel line tightness, vibration links and electric connection torques are verified. Tests run cold start, staged load rise, continuous load decision (e.g. 100%), cooling-temperature, charge-battery behaviour, ATS transfer time and parallel sync trials; emission, noise (dB) and vibration are measured. The result is delivered with a performance report and operator training.
Legislation and Outcome
Installation aligns with Law No. 6331, Fire Buildings, environment-noise-emission regulations and relevant internal installation rules. Sound and stack legislation needs local permits; fuel storage is governed by fire safety. A well planned generator system protects production and life-safety continuity during grid failure. Fuel, Test and Continuity
The generator you can trust in the moment of need is the one whose upkeep was not skipped: fuel storage duration and quality control (water, microbial growth) are managed with a periodic filtration and tank cleaning plan; dual tanks with leak alarms control the environmental risk. Weekly short runs and monthly loaded trials are the most economic insurance of cold-start reliability, and a yearly load-bank test verifies the rated output. Deferred filter and stack maintenance of the acoustic enclosure raises both emissions and noise. Battery-charger, coolant and belt checks are written into the operator list; earth resistance measurement and insulation control connect to the annual report.
