Periodic inspection of installations is the examination, measurement and functional testing at the intervals set by standards and regulations of the fixed systems that serve continuously inside a building or plant: fire extinguishing, fire detection and alarm, ventilation, cathodic protection, lightning protection, earthing and battery systems. Because these systems must operate at the moment of an accident, they are treated not as passive safety but as an active protection layer requiring regular verification.

Why Is Regular Control Mandatory?
A frozen valve in a sprinkler line, a disabled zone on an alarm panel, an uninspected lightning earth or a bypassed residual-current device in a panel all lead to the same outcome: at the moment of the accident the system does not work, or works only partially. Legal Basis
Installation controls run under the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, the Regulation on Protection Against Fire in Buildings, the Regulation on Earthing in Electrical Installations, the Regulation on Internal Electrical Installations and the relevant TS EN standards (EN 54 detection, EN 12845 sprinkler, TS EN 62305 lightning, EN 12954 cathodic protection). Intervals vary by system: annual service plus five-yearly hydrostatic test for extinguishers, 1-2 year earth measurement depending on facility class, annual functional test for detection systems.
